Welcome to the first signs of spring with the start Daylight Savings Time. As the time shoots forward, the weather has certainly turned backward with the return of the freezing cold & snow. With my muscles tightening up to fend off the cold, there is only one thing this yoga gal can think to battle the cold. That is, with challenging poses to strengthen & warm the body. With that said, we return to High Lunge as the “Feature Yoga Pose of the Week”. This is a great yoga pose to help open our groin & hips (an area we tend to hold tension & stress) & helps to stretch & tone legs & thighs. High Lunge can also strengthen the knee, ankle & waist while stimulating the organs of abdomen that can be therapeutic for digestion, constipation & sciatica. It also helps to lengthen the spine while stretching the chest while increasing stamina & lung capacity. With all these benefits, is it no wonder I chose High Lunge as the “Feature Yoga Pose of the Week” to continue to battle the cold?
