Hi Everyone,

This is certainly going to be a busy week. As I mentioned, I will be hosting my very first Pop-Up Yoga Event at Filtered North in Washington Heights this Thursday, April 13th. I have also prepared a brand new yoga playlist to welcome the spring that I will be debuting this week. In the meantime, I will be continuing to prepare for my first upcoming Ginga Flow workshop. Whew… I don’t know about you, but I tend to become a bit off balance & my mind to be all over the place when I have multiple projects going on at once. When this happens, I try to find ways to bring back focus in my life whether it is creating a to-do list to manage my time or coming into a yoga pose to help bring back focus. Therefore, this week will be about bringing balance & in keeping in line with welcoming spring, the “Feature Yoga Pose of the Week” will be the return of Vrksasana or Tree Pose. This is a great pose to help strengthen the legs, thighs, calves, & spine. It also helps to open the hips by stretching the groin & inner thighs, not to mention the chest & shoulders. Because we are balancing on one leg, this pose will also help to improve balance & focus (…something I desperately need) while strengthening the ankle & knees. Finally, this pose also helps to relieve sciatic and reduces flat feet. So be prepared as we go about bringing balance & focus this whole week!
