Breaking news!!!!! I will be teaching a Ginga Fun Workshop, a mix of yoga & capoeira for the family, at Our Savior of Atonement Church at 178 Bennett Ave. this Saturday, May 20th at 2-3:30 pm. To pre-register, visit www.gingafun.eventbrite.com
As some of you may know, I had previously hosted a Ginga Flow workshop at MBSY last month. It was such a fun & great experience that I did not want it to stop there. So this month, I am hosting another workshop, Ginga Fun, this Saturday, May 20th at Our Savior’s Atonement Church that will be a high-energy mix of yoga & capoeira for the whole family to enjoy. How shall we prepare for this? If you recall, last month I had prepared the body with a series of low lunges, as the ginga is essentially a continual flow of a series of high lunges. This month? Yep, you’ve guessed it! The “Feature Yoga Pose of the Week” will be the High Lunge. This is a great yoga pose to help open our groin & hips (an area we tend to hold tension & stress) & helps to stretch & tone legs & thighs. High Lunge can also strengthen the knee, ankle & waist while stimulating the organs of abdomen that can be therapeutic for digestion, constipation & sciatica. It also helps to lengthen the spine while stretching the chest while increasing stamina & lung capacity, something that will be additional helpful as we are in the height of allergy season. So Join me this week as we lunge our way to prepare to ginga with the whole family.
