Is it already the middle of January? I don’t know about you but this month has certainly gone through a slow start… and I have loved every minute of it. Instead of rushing to get things done, I have been taking things slow & steady. Something I have needed for quite some time. As I have been taking my time in the New Year, I start to think more of the fundamentals of my yoga practice & working the spine. As many of you know, I have always included the Cat (Marjaryasana)/ Cow (Bitilasana) Yoga Pose. Why? Because for me, I always felt it was such a great way to warm up the body, especially the spine. Not only does it improve posture & balance, it also helps to strengthen the spine & neck. The gentle flow between these two poses help increase coordination & allows the spine, neck, hips, abdomen & back to stretch. While moving with the breath, it helps to release any tension we may hold in those areas creating emotional balance & calming the mind. Not to mention, IT JUST FEELS GOOD, especially after a stressful day... So join me this week as we concentrate on the movement of the spine.
