Hi Everyone,

How has the weather been treating you? That was quite a snowstorm we had this past week but it seems that winter is slowly relinquishing it hold (I hope). As I mentioned last week, I have been thinking of ways to keep balance in our daily lives, especially with this constant back and forth in the weather. So what better way to end the month of March than with a balancing posture that continues to strengthen our body while keeping us grounded. One such pose that comes to mind is Eka Pada Utkatasana or Standing Figure Four/ One Legged Chair Pose. Some of you may have noticed that I have been incorporating a lot of Utkatasana/ Chair Poses throughout my sequences recently. What better way then to prepare our bodies for this challenging balancing pose? Eka Pada Utkatasana is a great pose to help strengthen the core & legs while opening the hips. It requires a great deal of concentration & stability that can improve balance & focus. Standing Figure Four/ One Legged Chair Pose also stretches the hamstrings, hips, leg, lower back & gluts. Finally, this is a great pose to prepare our bodies for future arm balancing postures. So join me this week as we continue to balance out the final week of March with a Figure Four.
