As fall prepares itself to arrive, the weather this week has certainly gone through its ups & downs. To warm & sunny like today from humid, cloudy & sometimes chilly, it can certainly do a number on our bodies. I myself have noticed a great deal of stiffness & tension especially in the shoulders. As last week we worked on a pose that continues to honor the warrior while opening the chest, this week I’d like to take it a step further with a warrior pose that also releases tension in the shoulders. That pose would be Humble/Devotional Warrior. A variation of Warrior I, this is a transitional pose that helps to open the hips, chest, neck & shoulders. It also helps to stretch the shoulders, arms & the muscles of the back while strengthening the thighs, calves & ankles. This is also a great pose to stimulate the abdominal organs & nervous system while allowing yourself to surrender to the moment releasing tension. So as we continue to play homage to the warrior this , what better way with a pose that helps to open & release?
