I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving! I don’t know about you, but I had enjoyed every morsel of yummy goodness that was put before me this whole week. But as you know, it does not stop there. Christmas is just around the corner with another feast to come. Some of you may recall that I had hoped to prepare the body and the digestive system the last few years at this time for the onslaught of food to come, so what better way then to continue with this tradition. Just as we had in the past, allow me to make the next few weeks a “Yoga Tribute to Ourselves” as we prepare our bodies to continue to enjoy all the amazing food we are blessed to have on our tables. Last week I had reintroduced is Utthita Parsvakonasana or Extended Side Angle. So allow me to take it a step further with Parivrtta Parsvakonasana or Revolved Side Angle Pose. Parivrtta Parsvakonasana is a great pose to help strengthens the legs, ankles and knees. This yoga pose not only helps to improve balance & stamina, the twisting motion also assist in detoxifying the body by stimulating the blood to flow through the organs of the kidneys, liver & spleen while helping to improve digestion. This challenging pose can also help to stretch, tone, strengthen & energize the entire body, improve stamina & mental concentration while developing body coordination. With all these great benefits, is it no wonder I wish to return to this challenging pose as we begin our “Yoga Tribute to Ourselves”?
