Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to send a thank you to those who attended my first Ginga Fun workshop for the family. It was such a great experience to guide a family as they learned to ginga with each other in a fun, interactive & challenging way. I look forward to seeing where this endeavor can lead. In the meantime, I won’t lie. I myself am quite a bit sore with all the lunges I taught in the ginga positon, especially my quads. What to do? Yep, work with a pose that can help open up my quads & hips. . So with that said, the “Feature Yoga Pose of the Week” will be the return of Anjaneyasana or Crescent Lunge. Crescent Lunge is a great yoga pose to not only open up the quads, but also can also help to stretch the legs, hamstrings, groin, & hip flexors, while opening the front torso, chest & shoulders. As you move forward in this pose while balancing on one knee, it also helps to develop flexible stability while releasing tension in the hips, an area we tend to hold stress, & strengthen the knee, thighs & gluts. Whew… with all these benefits is it no wonder I have chosen Anjaneyasana as the “Feature Yoga Pose of the Week”?
