Hi Everyone,

If you recall, last week I had mentioned about slowing things down especially with the onslaught of the high temps & humidity. I don’t know about you but I spent quite of few days hiding from the heat in my apartment with the air conditioner blasting. Though I would be one of the last people to complain about the wonders of modern technology that allows us to stay comfortable in uncomfortable weather, I cannot help to notice how my throat began to feel dry, causing my breath to become constricted. What was I to do to help counter the effects of this? Yep, work on postures that help to open up the chest & lungs. So with that in mind, the “Feature Yoga Pose of the Week” will be Urdhva Mukha Svanasana or Upward Facing Dog Pose. A staple pose in a vinyasa sequences, this is great pose to stretch the chest, lungs, shoulders & abdomen. Upward Facing Dog helps to improve posture while strengthening the spine, arms & wrist while firming the buttocks. Finally, this pose can help to relieve mild depression, fatigue & sciatica while being therapeutic for asthma. So join me this week as we continue to add some ease into our busy week.
