Hi Everyone,

It is with sadness that I announce that this will be the last week for the Wednesday 7am-8am morning class at MBSY as it will be removed from the schedule starting the week of the 16th. But do not fret, my schedule otherwise remains intact. It is interesting how life can certainly throw some curve balls at you when you least expect it. I myself can say that it is not always easy & this can sometimes cause some additional stress. But like everything else, we learn to work through the unexpected with all its twist & turns, to stay open to other possibilities that may come. As they say, when one door closes, it could lead to another door opening. So with that in mind, I start to think of poses that not only open but also twist our bodies to help relieve tension. Parivrtta Prasarita Padottanasana or Revolved Wide Leg Standing Forward Fold is one of those poses. This is a great pose that opens the hips, an area that tends to hold tension, thereby relieving stress, anxiety & mild depression helping to calm the mind. Revolved Wide Leg Standing Forward Fold also helps to stretch the hamstrings, calves, hips, lower back & spine. It also helps to stretch & strengthen the upper back & shoulders releasing any additional tension on neck & shoulders. Lastly, as this is a pose with a twist through the torso, it helps keep the spine healthy & flexible while massaging the organs of the abdomen releasing toxins & cleansing the organs while helping to improve & regulate digestion & metabolism. So join me as we open & twist our way through the week.
