Is it truly the end of summer? The fall equinox has just past, signaling the start of autumn. Just as in the spring equinox, the sun shines directly on the equator creating balance as day & night become nearly equal in time. With this balancing of day into night, I can’t help to reflect on how to create balance in our lives that can be especially difficult with all the challenges that may come our way. For me, staying grounded is key while keeping the body strong & the mind focused. As we continue to honor the warrior this month, what better pose to focus on balance while keeping the body strong than Virabhadrasana III or Warrior III. Warrior III is a great balancing pose that helps to strengthen the ankles, legs, shoulders, & muscles of the back. It also helps to tone the entire body, especially the abdomen, while improving posture. Finally, as this is a balancing posture that requires a great deal of focus, it helps to improve concentration & memory as well as letting go of tension to help keep the mind & body calm. So join me this week as we bring balance into our daily lives.
