Hi Everyone,

Welcome to December & the season of Christmas soon to come with all its delicious treats. As I mentioned earlier, with another feast that’s just around the corner, let’s continue to prepare our bodies for the all that yummy goodness. With that said, “Yoga Tribute to Ourselves” continues with a series of strong poses with a twist that not only stretches the entire body but also work the abdominal organs to aid in digestion & elimination. One pose that comes to mind is Parivrtta Anjaneyasana or High Lunge Twist. High lunge Twist is a great pose to stimulate the abdominal organs that can help improve digestion and elimination. Because the back heel is lifted while in the twist, this pose helps to improve balance and endurance while strengthening the quads and gluts. This pose can also help to improve stamina while stretching the psoas and hips. Finally, this balance pose can improve concentration while engaging the core and relieve sciatic pain. So be prepared to balance and twist the week away!
