Fall into balance…

Hi Everyone,

Fall has arrived!!!!! As we transition from summer to autumn with the arrival of the fall equinox, creating balance as day & night become nearly equal in time, I can’t help to reflect on how to continue to create balance in our lives while staying firmly grounded. It can be extremely difficult, especially with all the ups & downs we go through in our lives. I, myself, can find it extremely challenging, creating a lot of self-doubt, as I deal with the daily stresses that come my way as I try navigate through the unknown journey of life. When this happens, all I can do is find ways to bring back focus. For me, staying grounded is key while keeping the body strong & the mind calm.

Many of you may have noticed that I have been incorporating different ways to work on balance throughout class, combining lunges with elements from warrior postures. As much fun as it is to find new ways to work on balance & strengthening the body, balancing postures like Vrksasana or Tree Pose have always been one of my staples to help me to feel grounded and rooted to the earth. As I mentioned in the past, this pose has so many benefits, such as strengthening the legs, opening the hips & chest, improving circulation & digestion, stimulating the nervous system & finally, quieting the mind. Tree Pose has become the pose of my choice when I feel the need to bring more focus in my life while strengthening the entire body & calming the mind. So join me this week as we continue to bring balance into our daily lives with focus & stability.
