Let’s continue to be calm & cool…

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is enjoying the gorgeous weather. This past week has been wonderful with lower temps & humidity & I have certainly enjoyed every minute of it. Though the temps have started to cool, summer is not over. Therefore, I’d like to continue to incorporate this idea of slowing down with poses to help calm the nervous system & cool the body.

Many of you may have noticed that I have been incorporating a lot of poses that opens up the hips & inner thighs, an area that can hold a lot of inner heat. Forward Folds like Wide Knee Child’s Pose & Wide Legged Forward Folds are great poses to help release this heat. Forward Folds, in general, helps to cool the body & calm the mind while creating ease in the body. This week I’d like to take things a step further with Upavistha Konasana or Wide Legged Seated Forward Fold. This is a great pose that stretches the legs, strengthen the spine, stimulates the abdominal organs, and releases tension in the groin. Because this pose is close to the earth, it continues to help cool the body, while creating a sense of grounding that helps reduce anxiety & stress thereby calming the mind. So join me this week as we continue to slow things down & bring more calmness to our practice.

In the meantime, if you also wish to follow my adventures in Spain & France, I have been steadily working on updates to my website & Instagram as I continue to share photos & more details of my travels. I will continue to keep you up to date with sneak peaks to the other wonderful retreat locations that I had that opportunity to explore for possible retreats for 2020.
