Open to find our balance & stability…

Hi Everyone,

As fall prepares itself to arrive, the weather this past week has certainly gone through its ups & downs. You name it, we’ve had it, from warm & humid, sunny & mild, to cloudy & chilly, it can certainly do a number on our bodies with the constant change. Last week, I honored the moon with the balancing posture, Ardha Chandrasana or Half Moon Pose, a pose that also helps to open the entire front body. This week, I’d like to continue the idea of balance along with a sense of strength & stability, to help prepare the body with whatever the weather may throw at us. One pose in particular, Trikonasana or Triangle Pose is a wonderful balancing posture with both feet rooted to the ground to give a sense of stability. Not only does it open up the front body, especially the chest & shoulders, it is also a great pose to strengthen the back, core, legs, knees & ankles, while stretching the legs, ankle joints, hips, groin, hamstrings, calves, shoulders & spine. As it is also a gentle twist, it helps to keep the back flexible while massaging & stimulating the abdominal organs to help improve digestion & constipation. This is a great full body yoga pose that also helps to relieve stress, anxiety & neck pain. With all these benefits, it is no wonder that I chose Trikonasana to continue to be open for what may come & find balance?
