Hi Everyone,

Welcome to April!!!! It certainly has started off with a lot of wonderful news. As I mentioned, I will be adding a second class on Tuesdays at Keystone Dance Studio & hosting a Pop Up Yoga Event at Filtered North in Washington Heights on Thursday, April 13th. Of course, not to forget, the Ginga Flow Workshop that is coming up on Saturday, April 22nd at MBSY. Whew! With all these wonderful events coming to fruition, I find myself a bit stretched for time & feeling a bit overwhelm creating tension along my entire back. What do I do when this happens? I work on trying to get the kinks out from my spine. With that said, the “Feature Yoga Pose of the Week” will be Ardha Matsyendrasana or Seated Spinal Twist. As many of you may know, I’ve always included some type of spinal twist in the beginning & end of my classes. I don’t know about you but whenever I do any type of twist, I feel that, like a dishrag, I am twisting away all the excess tension & stress along my back & my spine just springs back to life. Ardha Matsyendrasana is such a great yoga pose that not only stretches the shoulders, hips & neck, it also energizes the spine & helps to maintain spinal rotation. The Seated Spinal Twist also helps to relieve menstrual discomfort, fatigue, sciatica & backache while stimulating the liver, kidneys & digestive fire of the belly. With all these wonderful benefits, is it no wonder I would chose this to be the “Feature Yoga Pose of the Week”? So be prepare for the many twist & turns that will be coming our way…
