I believe I can fly…

Hi Everyone,

Summer is officially here! Yay!!!! Shall we head off to the beach? Many of you may have noticed that I have been including balancing poses that strengthen & stretch the body that engage the core to help reduce belly fat while also working to create space in the shoulders & hips. Not only was I helping to prepare you for the summer season ahead, I was also working toward another pose to make its way into class. If you recall, I had mentioned earlier this month of another inversion that could make an appearance. Is it time? Yep, I’d say it is. Without further ado, allow me to introduce Bakasana or Crow Pose. This is a balancing posture that can be quite intimidating for some as it challenges you to support your weight on your hands while you lift off & face your fear of your face falling into the floor. But fear not, I will be with you every step of the way as you slowly lift one foot then the other as you prepare to fly. Bakasana is a great pose to bring awareness to the body promoting inner focus as you concentrate in the moment. Because you are balancing on your upper arms, Crow Pose works to strengthen the arms & wrist, stretches the upper back, & opens the groin, while strengthening & toning the abdominal muscles & organs. This is a great full body pose that helps to create a sense of balance of holding on while letting go… bringing focus & release. So join me as we prepare to fly into the week ahead.
